Welcome to Egton Cottage
Egton Cottage is one of a group, which is set on a hillside with panoramic views stretching from the dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey on the coast to the North York Moors inland. Converted from an old farm building, Egton Cottage has been tastefully refurbished to offer cosy & comfortable accommodation for 2 adults (sorry we do not accept children/babies). A relaxing base for exploring this lovely area!
Accommodation : (All ground floor) 1 x double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath, wash basin and WC. Comfortable open plan living area with fitted kitchen and sitting/dining room with electric fire.
Amenities : full gas central heating with additional heating from electric fire in sitting area. Electric oven & gas hob, fridge, microwave & colour TV. All fuel, power and bed linen is included in the rent. Off road parking. Large lawned areas & sheltered courtyard with seat. Sorry, no pets or smoking. Shop & pub 15 minutes walk.
Ruswarp has riverside tea gardens, boats for hire on the river Esk and is also home to the weekly livestock mart on Wednesdays. This event is full of local character and strongly recommended for those interested in the agricultural life of the moors and dales.
Please note - the cottage may become inaccessible during periods of heavy snow fall. Should this happen you may have to park at the bottom of the track and walk up.

We've had a wonderful few days at Egton Cottage and have just arrived back home today.
Big compliment on the cottage. It's the best equipped and cutest self-catering accommodation we've ever stayed in. The location is spot on as well. The peace and quiet and fresh country air was exactly what we needed.
Thank you very much!!

I had a lovely time staying at Egton Cottage last week and it is certainly in a beautiful, peaceful spot. The cottage is very well laid out and I don't think I have ever seen such a well equipped kitchen in self-catering accommodation!
I am going to keep the details on file as it is certainly a hidden gem and so well placed for exploring more of the coast, which I intend to do, so I may be in touch again in the future.
